Claire Henley's work is inspired by her love of the landscape and coastal areas of Britain

Bio

Claire has had a varied career as a professional artist and illustrator. After studying graphic design in London, she began work as a designer for a textile company in Leamington Spa. As a freelancer Claire began designing in a variety of fields such as stationery, giftware and toy manufacture before becoming a book illustrator. To date, she has been responsible for the illustration (and sometimes writing) of over a hundred children’s books.

In recent years she has produced a series of canvases inspired by her love of the landscape and coastal areas of Britain. She enjoys experimenting with collage to create a variety of textures, and uses acrylic paints for their versatility and depth of colour. In addition to her original work, Claire has produced a series of limited edition giclée prints and a set of greetings cards using some of her most popular images.

Claire exhibits in several galleries in the West Country and The Cotswolds, as well as in her home county of Warwickshire.

Claire’s work is also shown at the Courtyard Gallery situated in the shopping village at Stratford Garden Centre, Clifford Chambers.  The gallery is open Weds- Sunday & manned voluntarily by our very own artists.
