My work is a diverse mixture of formal, lucid and mark marking depicting my curiosity of nature

I have been involved in horticulture since 1998. This has evolved into my business of garden and planting design, consultancy and construction. My work with garden design indulges my passion for plants. Its richness is in the concentration of many varied varieties. The vast palette of plants fuels creativity. However my creative journey through painting takes me to seek richness in a seemingly opposite environment, mainly on the coastline.

Following a path led by a curiosity for nature and found objects my work is a diverse mixture of formal, lucid and mixed mark making. I work both in the field and in the studio, mainly in watercolour. An informed enthusiasm is what I hope brings together the diverse choice of subjects into a coherent collection of experiences.

The gardens that I have designed and made have begun to mature and their growing richness has drawn me to spend more time documenting elements within them, in particular, water, reflections and the plants and animals that inhabit this environment. This new path has expressed itself through a use of acrylics and oils that satisfy a need to discover a broader expression of my experiences
