Rod inspiration comes from the changing moods of nature, using texture and interest to his paintings


Rod, following a long career in the Water Industry, now devotes much of his time to his watercolour, acrylic and mixed media painting.

His inspiration comes from the changing moods of nature, which he attempts to capture in his landscapes and seascapes, and from the texture and ‘hidden’ shapes found in natural forms such as tree bark and rocks.

Rod enjoys experimenting with a variety of techniques and bases to add texture and interest to finished paintings. His style has been influenced by the work of the late John Blockley, Michael Morgan and Kurt Jackson.

Rod will be exhibiting for the first time as part of the Visual Arts Group in the Atrium of the ArtsHouse.
