Open to the public 1 - 3rd June 2018 at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall

Russell Gain

Russell's abstract works interact with colour, texture and surface in many layers using acrylics.

Russell has been painting for as long as he can remember, and is largely self-taught as an artist, though he does have a Master’s Degree in the History of Art.

He started by painting watercolour landscapes, and some of his work is still visibly inspired by landscape, but many of his paintings are completely abstract.

Russell works with colour, texture and surface in many layers, aiming to produce something beautiful which is not obviously related to anything in the real world. He paints in acrylic on paper, canvas or board, and works in a studio at the end of his garden in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Russell is exhibiting his large abstract paintings as part of the Visual Arts Forum group on the ground floor of the Town Hall
