Katharine studied Textiles and Fashion Design at the Hornsey College of Art, London, graduating in 1977 with First Class Honours.
This was followed by a career in the museums sector, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and later as a free lance textile conservator.
In 2006, Katharine returned, part time, to art school and began to exhibit textile inspired works.
In 2013, feeling the need to do something quite different, Katharine enrolled in a ceramics class. She now has her own kiln and is developing a range of sculptural work making use of oxides and brushed on glazes to create painterly effects.
