I am inspired by the large slipware chargers of Thomas Toft and the 17th  Century harvest jugs

Bio

I come from the Market Town of Banbury, situated on the Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire border.

I fell in love with Pottery over 20 years ago after being dragged along to an evening class to make up the numbers. It soon became apparent that clay was going to play a big part in my life. It wasn’t long that I began planning to have my own studio at home.

My work was heavily influenced by my love of History. Taking inspiration from the large slipware chargers of Thomas Toft and the 17th  Century harvest jugs and sgraffito ward off the North Devin Potters which a lot of the pottery was taken on the Mayflower.

Since being  a finalist on the Pottery throw down series Two, this has enabled me to broaden my skill base and given me the freedom to develop slip-work. Broadening my pottery to a more contemporary feel.

When not potting I like to get away at weekends to indulge my passion for History, by taking part in Historical battle re-enactments around the UK and abroad.
