I make textile art - felt, fabric manipulation and collage
Jacqui works in a variety of ways to produce her art. She paints in acrylics, uses vintage fabrics to create collage and loves free machine embroidery, often combining all these skills to create interesting designs and textures. She is predominantly a felt maker and mainly uses the wet felting technique to produce this type of textile art.
By layering pre-dyed Merino wool, silks, and threads she builds up a painterly design with the fibres much like building up a loosely painted acrylic. When the felt is dry she adds stitch detail by machine and hand to give finer definition.
Jacqui runs felting workshops from her home studio in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Please get in touch if you would like to see more of her work or for details of her classes.
