| Primarily a textile artist, I work with bright coloured, home dyed preloved fabrics alongside the new.
This is in response to my fascination of the regeneration of plants , how the new growth entangles the old . This entanglement is reflected through, frayed , torn edges and rag rug, sometimes cascading seat coverings and deckchair slings. I also screen print and use free machine embroidery stitch illustrating linear plant drawings. |
Much of my work is functional, chair and cushion covers , deckchair slings and made to measure stools. I also more recently have produced Jackson Pollock style paintings , also reflecting the interlinking of lines . All my work is fit for purpose and represents my love of the outdoors, the pinks and greens of summer and the blues of the sea and sky
